A specialty coffee e-commerce store built from scratch as a portfolio and learning project. Built to demonstrate real-world e-commerce capability using Django, HTMX, and Tailwind CSS v4 - no Shopify, no WooCommerce, just clean custom code.
The challenge
What needed solving
As a portfolio project the goal was to build something that demonstrates genuine e-commerce capability - product variants, stock management, Stripe checkout, order management, a blog, and a full custom backend - without live client brief.
The solution
How I solved it
A full Django e-commerce platform with product catalogue and variant handling (grind type, weight), Stripe payment integration in test mode, SendGrid order confirmation emails, AWS S3 media storage, a complete management dashboard for products, orders, customers, inventory, and blog content - all built mobile-first with HTMX and Tailwind CSS v4.
